Saint Patricks Day Freak Out of 2011

Well what a fabulous holiday for a drunk. Oh certainly used to celebrate but I celebrated this year with a good ole losing my damn mind. I think I invented new cuss words last night. I have somehow stategically pissed off everyone around me and I feel like the only people in my life that have a reason to be pissy with me are my children; smarts and funny okay maybe occassionally the trashman because sometimes I put the trashcan out at an angle not thinking that he’ll have to actually get out of the truck to fix it for the arm to lift it to empty it but other than that I should be good to go with those around me.

I tell ya there is nothing better an alcoholic woman trying to celebrate a holiday that means something other than how many drinks you can pound in an hour when all she has wanted for two weeks is to see how many drinks she can pound before she believes she is Batwoman and believes she can fly off the roof.

Stupid damn holiday…okay…carry on.

End of Nablopomo 0809

42-17182418See this stack of papers, binders, and folders?  That’s pretty much what my school work pile has grown into.  I haven’t been able to do any school work at all.  I know shame on me, I have an excuse though!  I know again shame on me for making excuses.  I get up at 7am, I get my daughter ready for school, she’s on the bus by 8:30am and then it’s time to get my son ready for the day.  Let’s see, hmmmmm, chores and playing last until about 4pm and then I get my daughter off the bus.  Anyway I have to call people from 6-9pm and then it’s brush teeth, get clean and time for bed for my kids.  By this time, I am exhausted and most of the time I am in bed by 10pm.  I DO feed them by the way.  So anyway I guess you are wondering why I am telling you all of this?  Well sadly I am going to have to bow out of Nablopomo for the month of September.  I HAVE to get caught up with everything around here especially my school work.  You WILL hear from me though, just not everyday anymore.  I’m not happy I’m going to have to get out of bed around 5:30am for the time being until I can get caught up.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!  Happy Blogging Everyone!

She’s Only 8!

Man, who knew this whole parent thing could be so hard? 😉 On Wednesday it was really hot out so I decided when my daughter got home from school we would go ahead and enjoy the pool before she got started on her homework. Well she has a friend that lives a couple doors down and rides the bus with her, her same age and everything. So when we get home I announce (expecting a yay!) that it’s pool time, wait for it…the yay has to be in here somewhere…nope, no yay all I got was “but I promised her I would go over there today!” Okay so let me get this straight, you want to go to a friends house instead of playing in the pool? Yup. I take her over there and they invite her in THEIR pool. Guess whose pool she went in? No, not ours. I have to admit it hurt my feelings extremely and I cried that night on into yesterday morning. Sometimes being a Mom is no fun, painful even.

But I’m almost over it. 😉 Okay but I have a question here and I am hoping to get responses…

How much time should an 8 year old spend at a friends house, in a week?

I’ve been looking around on the web and it seems there is not one website that I have found that has an answer or opinion to this question. Okay so either that means I’m a paranoid weird mother or no one else has this problem, or well both. What’s your opinion, answer (on the question above, not on me being weird LOL!), how do you balance the time? I mean she is ONLY 8.
