2012 Has Started

2012 has started out great with warm coffee and Star Wars is on TV!  I have a great feeling about this year.  How’s everyone doing today?  I hope everyone had a fabulous, safe time last night and I look forward to another year of sharing, helping, and loving you all.  Happy New Year!

  1. Happy New Year, Bats. 🙂

It was the best New Year’s celebration I have had in a couple of years because Al was sober, and neither of us were drinking and/or fighting. 🙂 It was a really nice contrast to the one between 2008-2009 when there was drinking and fighting while “The Goonies” was on (I will hereafter forever associate that movie with that fight), and better than 2009-2010 where I was not drinking, but Al was (although I don’t really remember that one very well; if memory serves, then I was on the computer while he was sleeping it off). Last year, he was traveling and I was home. So this year was a first totally sober one for Al and me, and a good one! No fighting. 🙂

I’m anticipatory about 2012. It’s a year that is making me nervous for some reason. Maybe it is a little bit of the Mayan Calendar Hooplah that is floating about; maybe it is just that I am becoming more firmly entrenched in my mid-40s and feeling the pinch of time passing and my not feeling as productive in life as I “should” be. Then I try to settle down and realize that in many ways I am a miracle — it is a miracle that I am even here to write about it. And that is not a bad thing. I certainly hope that it is a good year for everyone, and that any anxiety I have about 2012 is unfounded.

Hope you enjoyed the coffee and Star Wars very much, Bats!

    • I always enjoy coffee and Star Wars. 🙂

I think this year makes a lot of people nervous, for varies reasons. I think 2012 is the unknown year and as humans we can’t define the unknown and that gets to us.

Your New Year makes me smile and you know New Years eve I had the Goonies on for a period of time. WTH? Do they play that movie every New Years?

Thank you for sharing your miracle here Miss D.

    • Now that’s the way to wish happy New Years! You Al, you too. Although you got married in 2011 and discovered happiness in more ways than 1 so 2012 is gonna have issues out doing 2011 for you.
